With heavy hearts but unwavering faith, we announce the passing of our beloved Geraldine McDonald. While we mourn her departure, we take comfort in the promise of 2 Corinthians 5:7-8: “For we live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.” We choose not to dwell on her absence but to thank God for the precious moments we shared with her.
On the afternoon of January 26, 2025, Geraldine McDonald peacefully answered the Master’s call. She was born on July 1, 1945, in Homerville, GA, to the late Tommie Lee McAllister Sr. and Gertrude (Dennis) Armstead. Geraldine pursued her education at E.O. Douglas School in Sebring, Florida.
She was united in marriage to Sammie McDonald, with whom she shared 35 years of marriage before their paths diverged. Later in life, she accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and became a devoted member of Action Revival Church in Lake Placid, Florida, under the leadership of Bishop Major Callahan.
Geraldine leaves a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories. She is survived by her loving family:
Daughters: Debra McDonald and Teresa McDonald of Madison, WI, and Marilyn (Roger) Munnings of Lake Placid, FL
Sons: Sammie McDonald of Batavia, NY, and James E. McDonald of Plymouth, WI
Sisters: Sharie Biaz of Grand Rapids, MI; Bonnie (Henry) Gardner of Vidalia, GA; and Marsha (Jimmy) Aaron of Albany, GA

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Willie Lee Armstead, Sallie Mae Callahan, Bernita Archer, Dennis Armstead, Ulysse McAllister, and Tommie Lee McAllister.
Her legacy of love and faith will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.
