Malik Kahlil Pearson was born July 14, 2009 at Memorial Miramar Hospital in Miramar, Florida to Christine Phillips and Chester Pearson.
He began his education in Miami-Dade County at Norwood Elementary School. His family relocated to Avon Park where he continued his education at the Elementary and Middle Schools. Malik was loved by his classmates, teachers, and administrators.
In Malik's spare time he was an avid gamer who also enjoyed the open road! One of his fondest activities was spending his summer vacation traveling with his father on his truck routes across 39 states in the U.S. The trips began in Florida and included states such as Minnesota, New Mexico, Nebraska and Utah to name a few. At the age of 4 in the truck with his hand on the gear shift, he would be excited to change the gears, to his father's delight. Malik also loved playing flag football for the YMCA Green Machine. Thanks, Malik, for that fabulous touchdown!
An irrepressible and loving spirit, Malik was a light wherever he went, and everyone enjoyed his smile and "Old Soul."
Malik is proceeded in death by his grandfathers, Leander Phillips Jr. and Walter Williams.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories: a Loving Mother, Christine Phillips, a Devoted Father, Chester Pearson; two caring siblings: Christopher Pearson and Oryanna Phillips; two Grandmothers: Valerie Williams and Linda Baker; seven Aunts: Sonya Phillips, Trisa Finlayson, Leandra Phillips, Shakitha Hayes, Jamia Hayes, Maria Dominguez, and Linda Dominguez; six Uncles: Deander Phillips, Leander E.
