Mattie Phipps

Mattie Lee Phipps was born in Midway, Alabama on March 11,1941 to the late Ross Rivers Sr. and Leanna Rivers. She is preceded in death by both of her parents, her son Willie James Rivers, six brothers: Joseph, Josh, Fred, Ross Jr., John Frank, Jessie, Five sisters: Sadie, Everlena, Carrie, Lorene and Cora. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, Herman Phipps, two children Johnny Lee Rivers and Shirley Ann Rivers, one stepson Nigel Phipps, eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, seven brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends one special niece Mary Ann West and Great niece Cressida Bosswell.
