Melinda LaGatta

Melinda LaGatta was born on August 23, 1970, in Brookhaven to her mother, Cheryl Gehrig, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Mark. Her only living sibling is her sister Monica.

Left to cherish Melinda’s memory are her beloved children, Tonimarie, Mathew, and Dillon.” She was a proud and loving grandmother to 10 beloved grandchildren: Janelle, Iyanna, Kelsey, Layla, LJ, Carter, Zayden, Lilyana, and Brett. Being a grandmother — “Mimi” — was one of the greatest joys of her life. She was a devoted stay-at-home grandma who treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Melinda loved spending time with her family and creating memories with those she loved most. She was known for her fun-loving spirit, her laughter, and her high energy. An amazing roller skater even at 55 years old, Melinda also loved swimming and fearlessly diving off the diving board. Her vibrant personality and deep love for her family will be remembered forever by all who knew and loved her.
