Robert Lee Willis, son of Doris Willis and Robert Lee Williams Jr., passed away unexpectedly on
July 7, 2023 in Avon Park, Fl. He was 37 years old at his untimely death. His family is deeply
saddened by his unfortunate death.
Robert is survived by his mother, Doris Willis, step-mother, Theresa Williams; son, Ra’jah Willis
and grandmother, Diana Willis-Smith. He will be forever remembered and missed by his
siblings: Dederrian Williams Sr., Cortley West (Joey), Marcellus Willis, Kumoia “Kemo” Dorsey
and Nialah “TK” Deveaux. His Aunts and Uncles: Ruby Jenkins, Larry Jenkins, Noris Jenkins,
Jessie Jenkins, Willie Drayton Sr. (Julie), Doris Washington, Jennie Mae Willis, De’Angelo Willis,
Cleotis Willis (Rosalyn), Roselee Thomas, Juanita Hawthorne, Betty Walker, Cornelius Walker,
Cassandra Dunn (Stanley), Kathy Crenshaw (Milton Sr.). He also leaves behind to mourn
numerous of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Williams Jr, grandparents; Bobbie Lee
Green, and Robert and Barbara Lee Williams Sr., aunts; Ella Mae Willis, Louise Harris and Helen
White.
Robert was born at DeSoto Memorial Hospital on September 20, 1985. He grew up in Lake
Placid where he attended Lake Placid Elementary, Lake Country Elementary, and Lake Placid
Middle from K-8. For his high school years, he attended Lake Placid and Sebring High School.
During his high school years, Robert enjoyed playing basketball and football but his passion was
tinkling with mechanical equipment where he would take thing apart and rebuild it back his
way. While growing up, Robert attended church with his mother at Greater Bethel AME Church
in Lake Placid before moving to Wing of Faith in Sebring.
Anyone who knew Robert knew he had a big heart and a smile that equate that heart. He would
give you anything even if it was not his to give. There was one thing that truly bought the
biggest smile on Robert’s face and that was his son, Ra’jah. He loved and cherished him dearly.
To him, Ra’jah was his biggest accomplishment in his life. Robert also loved hanging out with his
brother, nephew and sisters.
Robert will be desperately be missed by all those that he left behind. Our hearts are broken by
this unexpected loss. We are so grateful for the amount of time we were blessed to have him in
our lives. He will eternally be present in our hearts.
