Shirley Ann Lomaneck, a beacon of warmth and love, passed away peacefully on February 5, 2024, at the age of 67 in Avon Park, FL, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 18, 1956, in Adel, GA, Shirley's life was a testament to the power of joy, resilience, and the unwavering strength of family bonds.
Shirley's journey began as the cherished daughter of Sims Austin Hancock and Frances Edith Baker and grew up alongside her beloved brothers in the heart of Georgia. Her life was a rich tapestry woven with love, laughter, and the occasional fishing line cast into the waters of life's simple pleasures. Shirley's passion for solving mysteries was matched only by her love for crime shows, which she watched with the keen eye of an amateur sleuth.
The matriarch of a large and loving family, Shirley's legacy is carried on through her children and their families. She was a guiding star to her daughter, Katina Turman, and her husband Daniel; her grandson Caleb, and great-granddaughter Hazel, her granddaughter Rose and her husband Bryan, great-grandson Link, great-granddaughter Aryll, and great-granddaughter Suraya; her daughter Holly Jones and her husband Steve, grandson Dalton; her son, Chris Bowden, and his wife Paula, granddaughter Emily; her son, Josh Bowden, and his wife Brieanna, grandsons Tristin, Joshua Jr, and Tyler, granddaughters Hayley, Hunter, and Shelbey; her son, Harley Lomaneck, and his wife Bridgett, grandson Marshall, and granddaughter Kylie; her son, William Lomaneck, and his wife Candance, grandsons Justin, William Jr, and Waylon, granddaughter Kennedy; her daughter Amanda Lomaneck Maynard and her husband Ron, granddaughter Briana, great-grandson Jakobi; her daughter, Tonya Palmer, and her husband Ralph, their 7 children and 11 grandchildren; her son, Chris Lomaneck of GA; and her son, Billy Bob Lomaneck, of GA. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life, will carry her spirit forward.
Shirley's love extended beyond her immediate family, embracing her five brothers, James, Hollis & Fleda, Wayne & Judy, Carson & Yvonne, and Danny & Wanda Hancock. She was a cherished aunt to numerous nieces and nephews, an esteemed neighbor, and a friend to many, touching lives with her kindness and generous spirit.
Though Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Lomaneck, her daughter, Becky, her father, Sims Austin Hancock, her mother, Frances Edith Baker, and her brother, Carl Hancock, the love and memories they shared continue to resonate in the hearts of those who knew them.
Shirley will be remembered for her infectious smile that could light up a room, her laughter that echoed the halls of happiness, and her unwavering support that served as a pillar for her family. She was a woman of grace and grit, always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand. Her presence was a gift, her life a legacy, and her memory a treasure that will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know her.
As we bid farewell to Shirley Ann Lomaneck, we celebrate a life beautifully lived, a heart generously loved, and a soul eternally cherished. May her stories continue to be told, her lessons live on in those she taught, and her love felt by every life she touched. Shirley's spirit will forever dance in the hearts of her family, and the echoes of her laughter will resonate in the memories of those who loved her.
Her family will hold dear the time spent with Shirley, the wisdom she imparted, and the example she set. In the stillness of the water and the quiet moments of reflection, we will find Shirley's essence in every ripple, every ray of sunlight, and every gentle breeze that whispers her name.
