William Watson Sr. Obituary

William Watson, a generous, faith-filled, and thoughtful man, was born on the blessed day of October 14th, 1933, in the historic city of Charleston, South Carolina. He was called home to our Heavenly Father on April 20th, 2023, in the peaceful town of Sebring, Florida. A beloved son, husband, father, and friend, William touched countless lives with his warm spirit and unwavering dedication to his family, faith, and community.

Born to the late Molease and Sampson Watson, William was raised in a loving and God-fearing home. He carried the lessons of his upbringing throughout his life, always seeking to be a beacon of light and love to those around him. In the words of the great Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." William embodied this message, treating all he encountered with kindness and compassion.

For 28 years, William served as a Veterinarian Assistant, a profession that allowed him to combine his love for animals with his passion for helping others. His gentle touch and calming presence brought comfort to countless pets and their owners. He was a true servant of the Lord, using his gifts to bring healing and compassion to all of God's creatures.

William's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was an active member of his church, serving in various capacities and always seeking to deepen his relationship with God. His unwavering faith and dedication to the Lord were evident in every aspect of his life. He was a living testament to the power of prayer and the transformative nature of God's love.

He had a passion for tending to his yard, creating a beautiful and serene space for his family and friends to gather. As the sun set and the fireflies danced, William would often be found sitting on his porch, Bible in hand, reflecting on the beauty of God's creation and the blessings that filled his life. The love and care he put into his yard was a reflection of the love and care he put into every aspect of his life.

William was a man of great generosity, always seeking to lend a hand to those in need. He had a heart for service and a spirit that knew no bounds. He was a living embodiment of the scripture found in Matthew 25:40, "Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me." William's legacy will live on in the countless lives he touched, the seeds of kindness he planted, and the love he shared.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Watson; his loving children, William Watson Jr (Lorraine), Anthony Massaline (Shirley), Sharon Hardy (Reginald), Evangalyne Crumity (Earnest), and Elder Drusilla Watson; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

As we gather to celebrate the life of our dear brother William, let us remember the words of the Apostle Paul in 2 Timothy 4:7-8, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day—and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing." William has finished his race, and he now rests in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
